Media Technician - Animal HealthNear Woking - Starting at £16.05ph, 6-Month Initial Contract

Consult’s Animal Health recruitment team is proudly supporting one of the UK’s leading animal pharmaceutical companies in bringing a Media Technician into their team.

Manufacture large-scale production of cells and media used in FMD and BTV antigen production, fully complying with UK and company HSE, GMP, and biosecurity regulations. Operate and maintain process plant equipment while ensuring high-quality production standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Manufacture cells and media for FMD and BTV antigen production in a timely and cost-effective manner, following HSE, GMP, and biosecurity standards.
  • Operate and conduct planned/ad hoc maintenance on process plant equipment per standard operating procedures.
  • Perform laboratory tests at various production stages and record findings systematically.
  • Monitor and accurately record process plant instrumentation readings, taking remedial action as required.
  • Report data to QC/QA, production management, and financial controllers.
  • Work with shift technicians to ensure a seamless transition between shifts.
  • Provide cover for shift technicians, including weekend availability.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laboratory, participating in cleaning rotations.
  • Engage with Continuous Improvement (CI) and SPQDC processes.

Qualifications:

  • Strong IT skills.
  • Ability to work carefully and methodically with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in operating industrial-scale manufacturing plants under a quality system (desirable).
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to support shift transitions and weekend cover as needed.
