Are you an experienced multitasker who can take control of accounting and bookkeeping tasks, run cashflow and create pay runs? Our client is looking for a bookkeeper/accounts ledger manager who will be required for a busy group of businesses.

This role is ideal for someone who has been in a bookkeeping role before and is looking for more responsibility to move beyond day to day book keeping tasks.

Essentials:

  • AAT Bookkeeping Level 2
  • AAT Level 2 or above (desirable)
  • Xero software experience (minimum 1 year) preferred
  • If not Xero then another modern, up-to-date Accounting package essential
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel, Work and Outlook
  • 1 year operating PAYE for 15+ staff
  • Good understanding of foreign currency accounts, payments and invoice processing
  • Experience with an accountancy practice (desirable)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable - Process invoices, code & project allocate. Scan and attach.
  • Accounts Receivable - Create invoices, pass for soft approval and send to customers.
  • Credit Control - Send statements and chase overdue accounts
  • VAT - File VAT returns & check contents
  • Bank Accounts - Reconcile numerous bank accounts, including foreign currency & complex transactions
  • PAYE - Process Payroll, send payslips and reconcile payments internally
  • Expenses - managing employee expense claims
  • Reporting - Produce reports for regular company meetings
  • Tidy Books - Regularly check the ledgers & nominal accounts for errors/mis postings and ensure the picture being presented to management of the financial position is as accurate as possible
  • End of year - Assist the accountant with the preparatory works for end of year filings.
