The City & Capital team are currently representing a highly respected & fast growing mortgage lender who have retained our services to appoint a confident, knowledgeable and well qualified Head of Financial Reporting to their growing finance division, at a genuinely exciting time.

Our client is extremely well-funded with increased investment driving a new round of growth which is set to take the business to the next level. Due to this, the hiring of a cultured and well regarded Head of Financial Reporting is a critical appointment to ongoing success.

This is a role which also comes with a lot of scope for personal progression, with this role being earmarked for development to FD status, where excellent performance is delivered, and in line with the lenders own growth targets.

Initially, you will inherit a small team which you are likely to grow in time.

The role will report directly to the company CFO and will focus on the preparation of monthly/annual management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, investor reports, tax returns, data tapes & MI packs ensuring all are in line with UK GAAP/IFRS requirements. You will also work to establish, maintain and optimise robust financial controls, in particular, over the financial & regulatory reporting processes.

In addition to the above it is expected that you will be able to take detailed financial analysis for forward planning purposes, identifying variances and trends as well as key metrics to underpin found financial decisioning. You will oversee a Senior Financial Analyst within your team that can support with this activity, as well as aspects such as FINREP returns.

Finally, you will - wherever possible - streamline processes & policies to make them as efficient & as effective as possible, ensuring compliance with applicable accountancy laws & regulations.

Role duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Oversight of company management accounts & balance sheet reconciliations
  • Oversight of investor reporting and data tapes
  • Ovesight of financial MI and reporting in all aspects
  • Oversight of robust internal controls, and the optimisation of
  • Oversight of monthly/annual audits
  • Preperation and delivery of consolidated accounts
  • Regulatory reporting
  • Tax returns & payments
  • Line management
  • FINERP returns
  • Oversight of all financial systems and technology
  • Oversight of financial processes and the efficiency and effectiveness of
  • Financial compliance

Experience Required

  • Preferably CIMA, ACCA or FCCA
  • A Senior Accountant looking to step up or someone currently in a similar or 'like for like' role
  • Excellent financial data skills, including strong analytical background
  • Strong Excel
  • Experienced in preparing financial accounts & knowledge of FRS102 & IFRS9
  • Regulatory reporting experience, including FINERP

Our client is ideally looking to pay c£60k/£65k as a basic salary for the ideal individual. Higher offers may be considered for exceptional experience. Salary will be complemented by immediate access to our clients favourable benefits & bonus package too, to boost year on year earnings.

As above, this is also a role that comes with plenty of progression potential too, with the hope that the arriving individual will be motivated and ambitious to step up to company FD, in time.
