We are seeking a passionate and talented Teacher of Science (Physics Specialist) to join our dedicated team. This role offers the unique opportunity to deliver and develop a bespoke and challenging Science curriculum tailored for the needs of 21st-century learners. The ideal candidate will be an inspirational educator with a proven track record of leading students to achieve outstanding results and will be instrumental in advising on the delivery of Science across all key stages.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Teach all Sciences at KS3 and KS4, aiming to teach within your specialism at KS4 and KS5, though flexibility is required.
  • Contribute to the continuous professional development (CPD) across the school by sharing best practices, coaching, and maintaining an ‘open door’ teaching policy.
  • Enhance the profile of Science throughout the school by offering vibrant and exciting learning opportunities, organising relevant trips, and managing enrichment programmes.
  • Develop project-led learning initiatives that connect with the world of work, further and higher education, and the local community.
  • Effectively deploy and manage other adults within the faculty and classroom to enhance student learning.
  • Ensure resources are organised and available to promote a purposeful environment for teaching and learning.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree at a 2.1 or higher in a related discipline.
  • Qualified Teacher Status through a PGCE, GTP, or equivalent.
  • Experience in managing and leading groups of students.
  • Proven track record of designing curriculum at KS5 and creating high-quality, inspiring schemes of learning.
  • Up-to-date subject knowledge, including current scientific innovations and technologies.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with students, parents, and staff.
