Our client is looking for a dynamic and experienced Lead People Partner to join their rapidly growing engineering company. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a background in startups or SMEs, ideally within a technical, software, or engineering-focused environment, to work closely with senior leadership in driving the people strategy across the business. You will play a key role in supporting their teams in a fast-paced and evolving workplace, helping to shape the culture as we continue to innovate and grow.

Lead People Partner - About The Role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with senior leaders to develop and implement people strategies that align with the business’s objectives, fostering growth in a dynamic environment.
  • Lead and mentor a small, agile HR team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality HR services across the business.
  • Provide expert guidance on employee relations, performance management, and organisational development, leveraging your technical and startup experience.
  • Partner with hiring managers to attract and retain top engineering talent, focusing on building a strong, diverse team in a fast-moving environment.
  • Spearhead initiatives aimed at employee engagement, retention, and development, adapting strategies for a growing company.
  • Cultivate and champion a positive, inclusive culture where innovation thrives, and employees are empowered.
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations matters, providing hands-on support to line managers.
  • Support workforce planning, succession planning, and career development programs to meet both immediate and long-term business needs.
  • Stay up to date with employment law and best practices, ensuring compliance across all areas.
  • Travel to various locations to support teams, attend site meetings, and engage directly with employees (UK driving licence required).

The successful Lead People Partner will have:

  • Proven experience in a People Partner or HR leadership role, ideally within a startup, SME, or a fast-growing technical/software/engineering company.
  • In-depth understanding of HR best practices, employment law, and people management in a high-growth environment.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and coaching skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the business.
  • Experience leading and driving HR initiatives that support company growth, particularly in tech-focused or engineering environments.
  • A proactive, solution-oriented approach to problem-solving, with the ability to handle complex situations with diplomacy and tact.
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as needed to support multiple sites.
