The Business Improvement Manager - Operations & Services is a pivotal, hands-on leadership role designed to drive operational performance, continuous improvement, and digital transformation. Each department within the organisation has a similar role to lead productivity efforts; this position will act as the key liaison between the Operations & Services (O+S) function and central productivity teams.

Description

  • Productivity & Business Process Leadership in Manufacturing: Act as the lead contact for O+S productivity, coordinating across all business units to drive continuous improvement. Serve as the best practice owner for key systems and tools.
  • Program & Project Management: Lead and manage strategic cross-functional initiatives, employing LEAN, agile, and digital methodologies to deliver business transformation. Develop and own business cases for improvement opportunities.
  • Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Implement and manage performance tracking systems, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and robust data-driven decision-making. Evaluate and refine KPIs to measure and communicate success effectively.
  • Digitalisation & Automation: Champion and implement digital solutions, utilising tools like Power Automate and Power BI to streamline processes and drive efficiency. Serve as a key conduit for IT collaboration and digital adoption.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Best Practices: Collaborate across O+S units-Supply Chain & Planning, CES, and Engineering-to align processes, share best practices, and ensure continuous improvement. Work closely with productivity teams to embed a culture of proactive problem-solving and innovation.
  • Strategic Development & Change Management: Influence and shape the evolution of the O+S function, identifying opportunities for growth and operational excellence.

Profile

Person Specification

  • Proven success in project and program management with experience in LEAN/agile and digital transformation.
  • Proficiency in low-code tools (Power Automate, Power BI) and an aptitude for digital automation and reporting in a manufacturing business.
  • Ability to influence, coordinate, and drive productivity initiatives across multiple functions.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively engage with senior stakeholders and convey complex performance insights.
  • A track record of building business cases and delivering measurable improvements in a manufacturing organisation.
