Package:

  • 38,000 per annum
  • Annual bonus in December
  • (Circa 41k OTE)

Alecto Recruitment are currently representing an industry Fixed Gas Detection distributor based in Woking, who are now looking to appoint a Workshop Service Engineer due to ongoing growth. This will be a combination of workshop based and field based work.

With an outstanding reputation for quality and engineering excellence, the company provide a one stop shop for the design, manufacture, test, supply, install, commission and service of fixed continuous gas detection equipment and environmental monitoring systems.

The Role:

The Technical Support Engineer/Workshop Technician position will be a mix of workshop and field based site investigation work,offering technical support to the service engineer team, whilst also assisting the workshop manager with the build, testing and calibration of new systems before being sent out for installation.

Duties will include:

  • Providing technical support to engineers and clients, resolving technical issues on Fixed Gas Detection Systems.
  • Working on after-sales support services and providing technical back up as required.
  • Workshop duties including the building, testing and calibration of new systems.
  • Service and repair of Fixed Gas Detection systems sent to back to the workshop
  • Provide training and produce support material for other members of the sales team service team

The Candidate:

  • To be considered for this role you will be an experienced Workshop Technician, or a Field Service Engineer who is now looking to move in to a largely workshop based role.
  • Preferably you will have good knowledge of Fixed Gas detection or instrumentation equipment, although experienced service engineers from other industries will also be considered, with transferable industries to include; Electrical, Fire Alarm, Intruder alarm, CCTV, Telecoms, Audio Visual or similar.
  • Full training will be provided on site and in house as necessary but experience as a workshop technician or service engineer is essential.

Preferable qualifications:

  • Electronic or Electrical qualifications
  • Proven experience working within a workshop, or Service Engineer capacity.
  • Strong communication skills
  • CSCS health and safety card (candidates will be considered without on the basis the company would send you on course immediately)
