About this Position:

We are hiring an experienced Vehicle Development Technician on behalf of our client, a leading automotive and motorsport company. This role involves the assembly, maintenance, preparation, and support of multi-project test and development vehicles and simulation rigs. The successful candidate will work on cutting-edge vehicle development and may be required to travel for UK, European, and worldwide test support.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Build concept, mule, prototype, and production-level vehicles and rigs to the highest standards.
  • Maintain and update vehicles and rigs to support ongoing development programmes.
  • Prepare and operate vehicles for test and development activities at various locations, including proving grounds and racing circuits.
  • Work closely with design and engineering teams to achieve specifications and targets.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and instrumentation schedules to ensure accurate builds and modifications.
  • Maintain a clean and well-organised workshop, ensuring equipment meets company standards.
  • Subject to internal approval, safely drive high-value, high-performance vehicles in workshop, road, and test environments.


Experience Required:

  • Extensive experience in motorsport, prototype, or low-volume high-performance vehicle builds.
  • Strong background in vehicle assembly, manufacturing, and operation.
  • Welding, machining, and fabrication skills are preferred.
  • Understanding of modern automotive electrical and electronic systems for fault-finding and repair.
  • Experience with diagnostic platforms such as MONaco, CANape, and INCA is desirable.
  • Clean driving licence and passport.
  • IT literacy, including Microsoft Office and Virtual Car software.
