MFL French Teacher in Secondary School based in the Woking area

Starting October 2024

Pay to scale - £150-£220 per day

Location – Woking

Hours - 8:00am – 4:00pm Temporary full-time

Position Overview:

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching French to students at KS4 level. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire a love of languages and culture while contributing to the academic success and personal development of our students. This is a full-time temporary role, with the opportunity to become permanent. 

About the School:

The School is a mixed Secondary School for students aged from 11 to 16 years with around 700 students in total. The School is based in the Woking area. The school was graded as a ‘Good’ school in its last Ofsted inspection and continues to perform well.

Key Responsibilities:

-          Design and deliver dynamic, interactive French lessons tailored to accommodate the diverse needs and abilities of students.

-          Cultivate an inclusive and positive classroom atmosphere that fosters a passion for language learning and deepens cultural awareness.

-          Utilise a variety of instructional strategies and resources, including communicative activities, multimedia tools, and authentic materials, to enhance language acquisition.

-          Regularly evaluate student progress through a mix of formative and summative assessments, offering constructive feedback to support their language growth.

-          Collaborate with colleagues to create and implement a cohesive Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) curriculum that caters to all learners.

-          Plan and engage in extracurricular activities, such as language clubs, cultural events, and international exchanges, to enrich students' language proficiency and cultural understanding.

Qualifications and Experience:

-          Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

-          Degree in Modern Foreign Languages or a related field.

-          Proficiency in French, with the ability to teach these languages to a - high standard.

-          Proven experience teaching MFL at the secondary level, with a track record of delivering excellent results.

-          Strong subject knowledge and a passion for promoting language learning and intercultural competence.

-          Effective classroom management skills and the ability to create a supportive and stimulating learning environment.

-          Commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to engage in school-wide initiatives.
