Reed Education are representing a beautiful School in Woking, and we are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team on a fixed-term contract. Our school provides a therapeutic and child-centred education for pupils aged 11 to 17 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH), as well as other Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). We offer extensive therapeutic training and support, ensuring our staff are well-equipped to make a significant impact on our students’ lives.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Support teaching and learning activities tailored to individual student needs.
  • Work closely with children on a 1:1 basis or in small groups to deliver educational sessions.
  • Manage classroom resources effectively to enhance the learning experience.
  • Accompany and supervise children on educational trips and visits.
  • Provide social support during lunchtimes for children who struggle socially.
  • Utilise strong behaviour management skills to maintain a safe environment for children experiencing heightened behaviours.
  • Engage in creative activities such as playing and teaching games to develop pupils’ social skills and further their learning.
  • Create inspiring classroom displays that support teaching and foster an exceptional learning environment.
  • Celebrate student success and participate in therapeutic training sessions.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • A good basic understanding of English and Maths.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and excellent communication abilities.
  • Resilience, persistence, and a solution-focused attitude.
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to the changing needs of our pupils.
  • A non-judgemental approach and the capacity to wear many hats.
