Quality Control Technician - Animal Health

Woking - Starting at £13.60ph, 6 Month inital Contract

Consult’s Animal Health recruitment team are proudly supporting one of the UK’s leading animal pharmaceutical companies in bringing in a production services technician to their team.

Support the quality control department in the testing and release of foot and mouth disease antigen and vaccine batches. To perform all routine testing related to act ingredient and finished product as well as utilities and environmental testing as required to maintain compliance on a GMP manufacturing site.

This is in a restricted area and a shower down process Is required for this role

Responsibilities

  • All aspects of in process and final product testing when results are used to support release of batches to required specifications, including receipt of test samples into QC.
  • Support with QC QMS processes such as, OSS, deviations, CAPA and change controls. Writing an updating relevant SOP’s and associated records.
  • Support with validation activities
  • Managing stock levels and ordering of consumables/other test reagents through KANBAN system. Support purchase of other equipment as required.
  • Sterilisation of equipment and waste removal from the restricted area by use of the autoclave and fumigation lock
  • Ensuring compliance of the area with HSE, Biosafety and GMP standards, by regularly reviewing and updating SOP’s and participating in audits when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Good time management
  • Able to work independently and in a team
  • Experience of working in a regulated, pharmaceutical environment is preferable but not essential
  • Knowledge of biologics processes through education or past experience
  • Knowledge of GxP quality systems
  • Competency of use of Microsoft office
