Their projects are often to design and build public and commercial buildings delivered on JCT, D&B but more often traditional contracts with some small NEC opportunities.Your new role is to support and assist in the commercial management of construction projects at any one time with the aim of achieving profitable, prompt, and faultless delivery, and ensuring high standards are maintained. You will be reporting to a Senior Quantity Surveyor /Quantity Surveyor full-time in the office. The role involves supporting the commercial team by complying with company procedures, liaising with customers and project managers, and managing the commercial and contractual aspects of relationships with customers, consultants, and subcontractors. Responsibilities include measuring, pricing, negotiating, and agreeing on budgets and costs for variations in project scope, ensuring project costs are correct, and raising or resolving queries, as necessary. The position requires attending pre-contract meetings, liaising with a wide range of construction professionals, and ensuring the timely completion of agreed actions. Additionally, the role involves producing and maintaining up-to-date procurement schedules, compiling and issuing invitations to tender, analysing subcontractor quotations, and making recommendations for the placement of orders. The candidate will also compile subcontract orders for approval, visit sites to measure and value completed works, assess subcontractor payment entitlements, and process payments. Furthermore, the role includes carrying out reconciliation of cost and value to date/forecast to keep the management team informed of project performance, and working closely with contract and site management staff to support the smooth running of the office and the site, while carrying out other duties as required.What you'll need to succeed is an HNC or relevant degree in a construction-related subject from a UK-based college or university and have some form of UK-based experience in a construction organisation. The ideal candidate should possess good IT skills and demonstrate an aptitude for working with numbers, as well as absorbing and analysing technical information. They should have a flexible approach to work and be initiative-taking and initiative-taking. You will have the right to work in the UK and have references from a UK-based employer.
