They believe change is achievable when offered by a flexible, respectful, inclusive and a non-judgemental approach.  They are currently looking for a part time Lived Experience Practitioner – MentalHealth to work as part of their team.      Salary: £26,600 Pro rataHours: 21 hours a week (ideally you will be able to work a Monday / Thursday / Friday)Duration: permanent positionCompany Benefits:  26 days annual leave pro rata (rising with service) + bank holidays + 1 extra days leave on your birthday, Pension, Access to Simply Health, Blended working, Employee discount programme and more…..Location – Woking area This role is part of an emotional and wellbeing service that supports adults aged over 18 in primary care who are experiencing a range of mental health difficulties.  Through sharing wisdom from your own or a friend or family members experience, the Lived Experience Practitioner will work specially with individuals to inspire hope and belief that recovery is possible in others.  Providing formalised peer support and practical assistance to people using the service in order for them to regain control over their lives and their own unique recovery journey.  Helping with the transition to use other mental health services and through working with the individuals, you will promote choice and opportunities to enable feeling connected to and valued in their community. You may accompany individuals you are working with to service appointments, meeting / activities of their choice and perform a range of practical tasks aligned to recovery goals. Working within a multidisciplinary team you will be building networks and relationships in the community and sign posting and bridging to various resources.    This post is subject to a DBS check.  Please note past drug and/or alcohol or criminality history will not necessarily discount you from undertaking this roleOur ideal applicant will have/be;  
  • Lived experience of mental illness or caring for somebody who has mental health problems
  • Experience accessing primary and / or secondary mental health services
  • Ability to share personal story of recovery in a professional manner
  • Experience of being in a supportive role is ideal
  • Able to travel across the Woking area
