About the Role

As a Social Worker in the Fostering Team, you will be responsible for assessing, training, and supporting foster carers, ensuring they can provide safe, nurturing, and stable homes for children in care. You will work closely with children, families, and professionals to ensure that fostering placements meet the needs of children and promote their long-term well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recruit, assess, and train prospective foster carers, ensuring they meet statutory and best practice standards.
  • Provide ongoing supervision and support to approved foster carers, helping them navigate challenges.
  • Work in partnership with social workers, schools, health professionals, and other agencies to ensure the best outcomes for children in foster care.
  • Undertake fostering assessments (Form F assessments) and contribute to panel recommendations.
  • Ensure all placements comply with fostering regulations, policies, and safeguarding guidelines.
  • Advocate for children’s needs and ensure their voices are heard in placement decisions.
About You

? A qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England.? Experience in fostering, children’s social work, or family support.? Strong assessment and report-writing skills with knowledge of fostering legislation and best practice.? Ability to build positive relationships with foster carers and children.? A commitment to improving outcomes for children in care.
