Software development manager - .Net - sought by financial services firm based in Woking - Permanent role - circa £90k base salary.
The Qualifications You'll Need
- Minimum seven years' experience required working in the field of application development.
- Minimum three years' experience with team management
- Proven experience as a .NET Developer and in a leadership role within a technical delivery environment.
- Strong knowledge of .NET framework and proficiency in C#, VB.NET, and other .NET languages.
- Experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software solutions.
- Excellent understanding of project management principles and experience in managing software development projects.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
Your Responsibilities
- To define and evolve the development processes, procedures, tools and techniques to ensure delivery of solutions.
- To define the development teams' metrics and measures
- Perform regular one-on-one team management and formal performance reviews - setting and grading quarterly objectives for each team member.
- Foster and mentor development team members
- To drive (where appropriate) a test-driven culture within the business
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business objectives.
- Review processes, defects & live issues to improve development processes and aid in defect prevention.
- Ensure that the tools and techniques employed by the development teams are kept up to date and are in line with industry best practices - including the use appropriate automation tools to optimise day to day tasks.
- Develop and maintain a project delivery schedule, ensuring timely completion of milestones.
- Ensure the technical feasibility and resource availability for all projects.
- Maintain high standards of software quality by establishing good practices and habits within the development team.
- Identify and manage project risks, including the development of contingency plans.
- Optimize and improve processes and methodologies to achieve more efficient delivery.
- Provide technical leadership and support to the development team.
