Milk Education are currently recruiting for an Outreach Tutor in the Surrey area, the role of a Outreach tutor is to support students who have been permanently excluded from their mainstream setting and waiting a new school place or specialist provision. As your role as a Inclusion tutor you must have a good understanding of the UK Curriculum particularly in Maths and English from KS3-KS4. You will also be supporting with confidence building, communication development and emotional support.

This role will be based outside of the classroom, you will be based in Libraries and Hubs.

Responsibilities as an Outreach Tutor:

- Provide one-on-one tutoring sessions to students in need of academic support

- Develop personalised lesson plans and instructional materials based on the student's needs and learning style

- Assist students with homework assignments, test preparation, and study skills

- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to parents or guardians

- Collaborate with teachers and other educational professionals to ensure student success

- Utilize various teaching strategies and techniques to engage and motivate students

- Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions and student progress

Experience for the Outreach Tutor role:

- Experience working with children, particularly in an educational setting

- Subject specialist and previous experience as a tutor

- Knowledge of special education principles and practices is a plus

- Strong ability to educate and communicate effectively with students of different needs, ages and backgrounds

- Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs

- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple students and assignments simultaneously

- Reliable transportation to travel to tutoring sessions (if applicable)

- Understanding of the UK Curriculum

- Able to plan and prepare lessons

- Effective in relationship building

- Reliable and consistent
