We are a well established Global business based in Woking who are now recruiting for an experienced Bid Writer to join our existing team. The role would suit candidates with proven previous experience in a similar role now seeking a fresh challenge with a locally based employer. You will be an important part of the company, working within a small team creating and managing the bid process to win business. Working Monday to Friday with flexible hours and working from home options available, you will receive a salary between £50 - £60k dependent on experience, plus annual bonus up to 10% of salary, with 20 days annual leave (increasing annually up to 30) plus the bank holidays and complimentary Christmas shutdown days, free parking, healthcare, pension scheme and life insurance.

Reporting into the Senior Bid Manager, you will be responsible for the written content and production of successful bids and tenders. Ideally you will have or be working towards an APMP qualification although this is not essential as candidates with an established career in bid writing will also be considered, applicants with experience of the security industry or facilities management are preferrable.

As Bid Writer your duties will involve as listed below:

• Own and coordinate the end-to-end bid process from opportunity identification through to bid
outcome / sales handover.
• Creating winning proposals with compelling and persuasive narratives
• Developing bid strategies and win themes
• Drafting and refining tender responses and marketing collateral (undertaking, where necessary and at
various points, all stages of the drafting process)
• Engaging with Subject Matter Experts to understand operational approach and narrative, coaching
where necessary
• Development and ownership of individual Bid Plans, including deliverable owners and completion
dates to ensure a high-quality bid is delivered on time and to the client’s requirements. Regularly
review and update providing reports on progress and issues as required.
• Proven ability to write clear and concise responses
• Assimilate client RFPs and PQQs to capture requirements and formulate bid/no bid decisions
• Monitor individuals’ progress and performance and intervene as necessary to maintain the planned
progress of the bid, escalating as required.
• Manage client communication via portals and email, raising and disseminating clarification questions
as required.
• Maintain sound version control of all bid documentation including client documents, working and
final submission documents.
• Contribute toward bid/no bid decisions
• Create and use bid documentation design / templates using(preferably) InDesign.
• Preparation of tender documents and collation of information required
• Validated and maintain the bid library to ensure relevancy of content.
• Supporting all elements of the bid process under the direction of the Senior Bid Manager
• Market research and analysis to: investigate market activities; clients; competitors; assess market
trends, analyse published data and statistics, and recommend to management effective marketing
strategy.
• Recommend and implement the most effective presentational style for Pilgrims response to client
RFP requirements.
• Responsible for identifying RFPs and monitoring portals for suitable opportunities.
• Effectively communicate and influence internal and external stakeholders up to senior level
• Develop commercial proposal in line with Senior Bid Manager and SMEs / Finance.
• Assist target list management / development – where necessary, running campaigns and exploring
new markets
• Ensuring brand consistency across all marketing materials.
• Developing Presentations for Marketing/Sales purposes.
• Managing project production through specific timescale.
• Creating and amending/editing artwork using graphic design skills and software applications: Adobe
InDesign; Adobe Illustrator; Adobe Photoshop.
• Utilise typographic and layout creative skills for artwork development.
• Working knowledge of office software applications: Acrobat Reader; Microsoft Word; PowerPoint;
Excel.
• Providing quality checking & presentation formatting of tenders
• Compilation & Administration of the Bid Library.
• Assisting in the completion of pre-tender questionnaires.

To be considered for the role of Bid Writer you will have worked within a similar position for a minimum of 5 years, ideally hold an APMP qualification or have an established career in bid writing. You should be a self-starter, work well under pressure meeting deadlines, happy and confident trouble shooting and problem solving. Graphic design skills and knowledge of software applications Adobe InDesign Illustrator and Photoshop, Acrobat Reader, Word, PowerPoint and Excel are essential.
