About the Role

In this position, the successful candidate will play a key role in diagnosing hardware faults, repairing or replacing components, and ensuring that all refurbished equipment meets stringent quality standards before deployment. The role also involves assembling and maintaining IT hardware systems, organizing hardware inventories, and occasionally providing on-site technical support for hardware installations and repairs. A valid driver's license is required, as the role includes occasional travel using a personal vehicle, with travel expenses reimbursed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the refurbishment of laptops, including diagnosing issues, repairing or replacing components, and conducting comprehensive testing.
  • Support the assembly, disassembly, and ongoing maintenance of IT hardware systems.
  • Ensure that all refurbished equipment complies with high-quality standards before deployment.
  • Collaborate with team members to manage and organize the hardware inventory.
  • Provide occasional on-site technical support for hardware installations or repairs.
  • Document repair procedures and maintain detailed records of all completed work.
  • Stay current with emerging hardware trends and troubleshooting techniques.

Qualifications and Skills

Required Experience and Education:

  • While relevant technical qualifications or certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, ITIL) are desirable, hands-on experience is highly valued.
  • Basic understanding of laptop hardware and IT systems, including components such as motherboards, memory, processors, and storage devices.

Key Skills and Attributes:

  • Demonstrated experience with hardware repair or refurbishment.
  • Ability to efficiently troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues.
  • Familiarity with operating system installation and configuration (e.g., Windows, Linux) is an advantage.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
