We are the UK’s leading Water Hygiene, Water Treatment and Equipment Specialist, looking to appoint a Trainee Service Engineer to our growing team.

You will assist our experienced Service Engineers with water hygiene and treatment projects. Alongside hands-on site experience, you will complete an apprenticeship programme with dedicated classroom learning several days each month.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To assist other service engineers to undertake water hygiene/Service works on a variety of water systems and water treatment equipment/products, to gain knowledge of relevant practices and legislation
  • Ensuring full compliance with relevant legislations and Health and Safety standards, and that Goodwater’s codes of practice are always observed.
  • To ensure that customers standards and, and that work is completed to the highest standard, including where necessary, the production of concise and accurate reports for all work undertaken.
  • To maintain high levels of communication with the Engineering colleagues and the Operations and Sales teams as required.
  • To uphold the image of the company, by always dressing smartly and conducting/ presenting oneself in a professional and responsible manner.
  • To uphold Health and Safety standards and ensure that Goodwater’s codes of practice are always observed. Any problems or hazards encountered while on site must be immediately identified to the lead engineer and/or the Line Manager, depending on the nature of the situation

The Person

  • Minimum Level 2 GCSEs or equivalent – Maths and English, grade C or above.
  • Some practical site experience would be advantageous.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Good computer skills, including Word and Outlook, and ability to use new software, Apps etc.
  • Full Valid UK Driving licence (preferable)
  • Enthusiastic, work well under pressure, understanding and demonstrating the importance of customer satisfaction and working to the highest standards.
  • Able to participate effectively in teamwork and use own initiative when required. Must be a team player.
  • Eligible to work in the UK.
  • Ideally located within 20 miles of our office, but this is open to discussion
