Finance Manager- About The Role

This position will be reporting into the CEO whilst working closely with the senior leadership team. This role will not be managing a team as the transactional elements up to trial balance are outsourced to a UK firm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the calculation and submission of VAT returns for both legal entities, ensuring full compliance with tax laws and regulations.
  • Review VAT exemptions, deductions, and refunds to optimize the VAT position of the business.
  • Develop and manage daily, monthly, and quarterly cash flow
  • Authorise payroll calculations including commission payments
  • Manage commission schemes and ensure correct calculations for sales teams, aligning them with company objectives and performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with the senior leadership team to create accurate financial forecasts and budgets that align with the company’s strategic objectives.
  • Provide detailed analysis of financial trends, risks, and opportunities to support business improvement initiatives.
  • Lead the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting for both legal entities.
  • Prepare financial statements, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow reports.
  • Oversee the management of Professional Indemnity (PI) insurance policies for both legal entities.
  • Lead the re-modelling of financial processes to streamline and improve operational efficiency.
  • Oversee foreign exchange transactions, ensuring that currency risks are properly managed.
  • Conduct regular fee audits to ensure accurate fee structures and compliance with contractual obligations.

The successful Finance Manager will have:

  • Professional qualifications (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of finance management experience, with a strong background in VAT, payroll, cash flow, and commission calculations.
  • Proven experience working with multiple legal entities and managing complex financial transactions in a high-turnover business.
  • Expertise in financial software, including foreign exchange and payment processing software platforms.
  • Ability to manage disputes, fraud prevention, and debt control.
  • Strong experience in forecasting, budgeting, and financial modelling.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
