Head of Services, Wokingham Borough Council (Competitive salary will be based on individual skills & experience)

This is an exciting time to join Optalis, as part of a major organisational change across two main areas of responsibility, the above position has become available for an individual to provide inspirational leadership.

Providing high quality, innovative and personalised services in accordance with regulatory requirements to adults and older people with a range of needs, in accordance with Optalis’ Core Values and an ethos of customer service.

To ensure we provide sound operational oversight of personalised services in such a way as to promote the rights, independence, and aspirations of customers, and which ensures that services are delivered based on a strong ethos of quality, compliance, and value.

To support care governance around regulatory compliance through a system of quality assurance, continuous learning and ensuring application of relevant regulations focused on achieving 'Outstanding’ ratings across services.

We are looking to appoint an inspirational leader who can demonstrate the below:

A Recognised health and social care professional/degree level qualification or equivalent or Level 5 NVQ.

Holding a leadership qualification, or willingness to undergo training.

Knowledge of the legal and policy framework as it relates to adult social care, including Safeguarding, Best Interests and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.

Sound knowledge of managing complex and volatile budgets.

Knowledge, experience and skill in dealing with sensitive issues such as abuse, loss, bereavement and situations of risk, in service and/or family settings.

Knowledge of the principles of change/performance management and service development/business planning
