About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled FinOps Specialist to join our team and manage cloud costs effectively. This role focuses on Azure cloud services, ensuring that our spending is optimise and cost-efficient. You will work closely with IT, DevOps, and Finance teams to develop and implement cost-saving strategies, create detailed reports, and provide actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and analyse Azure cloud spending to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Implement and maintain cost optimisation strategies and best practices.
  • Utilise Azure Cost Management and Billing tools to provide actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with IT, DevOps, and Finance teams to align on cost management strategies.
  • Develop and communicate cost optimisation strategies to stakeholders.
  • Participate in architectural discussions to ensure cost-efficient designs.
  • Generate regular reports on cloud spending, savings, and budget adherence.
  • Develop financial forecasts and budgets for Azure cloud expenditure.
  • Provide detailed analysis of cost trends and variances.
  • Automate cost management and optimisation processes using scripts and tools.
  • Evaluate and implement third-party tools for enhanced cost management.
  • Educate and train teams on cost-saving practices and tools.
  • Advocate for a cost-aware culture across the organisation.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge in cloud cost management and optimisation, with a focus on Azure.
  • Experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting in a cloud environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of Azure services and pricing models.
  • Proficiency in Azure Cost Management and Billing tools.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present data effectively.
  • Familiarity with cloud management platforms and third-party cost optimisation tools.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills.
  • Azure certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure Administrator Associate.
  • FinOps Certified Practitioner certification.
  • Experience in a DevOps or CloudOps role.
