Aim: To support a young learner with in-person KS1 tuition until special placement is found
Location: Learner's residence in WokinghamFrequency: 3 hours a day, 5 days a weekDuration: OngoingExtra information: This child has a diagnosis of autism, developmental delays, hypermobility, chronic lung disease, asthma, sensory challenges, and muscle tone difficulties. TThey have a strong interest in cars and enjoy spending time on a farm. Their teddy bears are very important to them. They love playing but struggle with being directed and do not like being told what to do. School staff have described them as an articulate child with a good sense of humor who communicates well with adults and can use language fluently and spontaneously for various purposes. However, while their speech is generally clear and expressive, it is sometimes difficult to determine what they are referring to. They also exhibit echolalia. They have significant sensory sensitivities and frequently chew on objects. Their hypermobility and muscle tone difficulties contribute to frequent falls, and they are unable to walk long distances. They also lack safety awareness and the ability to react to danger, requiring close supervision. Despite these challenges, they are a bright and engaging child who thrives in familiar and supportive environments.
