Hatched Recruitment is looking for a Commissioning Officer / Placement Officer in the Wokingham area.

Must have experience in sourcing placements for vulnerable adults, for example those fit to be discharged from hospital. Enhanced DBS check required.

About the Role:

We are looking for a Placement Officer to join our Adult Social Care team. This is a critical role where you will be responsible for sourcing placements for vulnerable adults, including those ready to be discharged from the hospital. You will work closely with Social Workers and care providers to negotiate fees and secure appropriate placements, all while ensuring the best outcomes for the people we support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Source and secure placements for vulnerable adults.
  • Build strong working relationships with care providers, enabling effective fee negotiation.
  • Communicate effectively with Social Workers and confidently challenge decisions when necessary.
  • Provide duty cover, triaging and redirecting emails and responding to urgent queries.
  • Ensure all tasks are completed accurately and within required deadlines.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Effective Communication - Confident in liaising with Social Workers and care providers via telephone and other channels.
  • Resilience and Tenacity - Able to handle challenging situations and navigate complex care requirements.
  • Work Under Pressure - Comfortable working under tight deadlines and pressure.
  • Social Care Background - Experience in social care settings, understanding the complexities of adult care placements.
  • Process Driven - Methodical approach to tasks, ensuring all information is accurately recorded and followed up.
