The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join the team. In this role, you will work closely with a child who requires additional support to access the curriculum, develop social skills, and build confidence in their abilities.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing tailored 1:1 support to a pupil with SEN, adapting learning materials and strategies to meet their individual needs.
  • Supporting the pupil's participation in classroom activities, promoting engagement and independence.
  • Collaborating with the class teacher, SENCO, and other staff to implement and monitor the child's Individual Education Plan (IEP).
  • Building a strong, positive relationship with the pupil to foster trust and encouragement.
  • Assisting with personal care tasks if required.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience working with children, particularly those with SEN (experience in a school setting is desirable but not essential).
  • Demonstrate patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Be adaptable and creative in finding ways to engage and support the child's learning and development.
  • Possess excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Have a willingness to learn and undertake training as needed.
