The School:

A fulfilling opportunity has become available for a Behaviour and Learning Support Assistant to join a wonderful specialist school in Wokingham.

This is a warm school where inclusivity is the headteachers main priority. A high importance is placed on giving the children the right tools to be successful and achieve all their goals.

There is a large focus on making learning fun and engaging so that learning may be made concrete. This really is a fulfilling environment where you will have a direct impact on making the lives of vulnerable children better.

The role:

As a Behaviour and Learning Support Assistant your main focus would be to provide support and assistance to the children in the classroom. You will work alongside the class teacher who will also support you in your day to day tasks. You will engage with learners daily and help make sure they are reaching their learning objectives at the end of each lesson.

These children struggle with various learning and processing difficulties, as well as trauma, anxiety, depression and stress. This can all impact learning negatively. They also have a hard time managing and processing their emotions. This can cause frustration and behaviour.Your job will be to bring a positive and fun atmosphere to the classroom while also helping children regulate and process.

The Candidate:

The successful Behaviour and Learning Support Assistant will be an individual who is calm, patient and passionate about making a difference. You will need to change your approach to match the needs of every child so being proactive is important.

You will be adding valuable skills to your skillset. This is a wonderful opportunity for individuals aspiring to become a psychologist, counsellor or teacher.

Experience working with vulnerable children is desirable but not essential. Graduates from a relevant field are most welcome to apply. Those with a sport, drama, art or music background are also encouraged to apply.
