A fantastic Primary School is at the heart of the Earley community, they have an exciting opportunity for a Special Educational Needs - SEN Teaching Assistant starting September, 2024

The Earley Primary School has KS1/KS2 students needing more tailored approaches to learning, you'll be supporting them to progress in their literacy, phonics and numeracy.

Earley, Wokingham

Start Date: September, 2024

Contract: Full-time

Hours: 8:15 AM - 4:15 PM

Salary: £83.33 - £90 per day

SEN Teaching Assistant responsibilities:

  • Assist students with special needs in the classroom - ASD/ADHD/Autism/Dyslexia.
  • Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies.
  • Provide 1:1 support to ensure student engagement.
  • Monitor and report student progress, with good safeguarding knowledge.
  • Foster positive social interactions among KS1/KS2 students.

Requirements for the SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Experience as a Special Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN/SEND) preferred.
  • Passion for working with special needs students (SEN).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Calm, patient, and empathetic in challenging situations, some of the Primary students have challenging backgrounds.
  • Willing to undergo relevant safeguarding and child-related training.
  • Flexibility and adaptability - everyday may be different with the SEN students.
