The Role:

As a Logistics Support Operative, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the despatch operations. This hands-on role involves everything from packing and palletising goods, to managing shipments and deliveries. You'll be supporting the logistics team in getting products to customers on time - both within the UK and internationally. This is a varied role that offers plenty of challenges and the chance to make a significant impact on the company’s operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Packing & Palletising: Physically prepare and package goods of all sizes, ensuring they are secure and ready for shipment.

Liaising with the sales team in regards to customer orders.

Logistics Coordination: Book and manage shipments with external couriers, resolve any shipping issues, and communicate effectively with both external logistics partners and internal teams.

Deliveries & Collections: Occasionally, you may be required to make deliveries or collections using the company vehicles (a clean UK driver’s license is advantageous, but not essential).

Schedule Management: Monitor delivery and collection schedules, ensuring everything is on track and completed on time.

System Updates: Keep the internal logistics system up-to-date with accurate shipment details and tracking information.

Event Support: Support the logistics team with external events, taking on additional responsibilities and learning new skills.

What We’re Looking For:

Experience: Ideally, you will have some experience in a despatch or shipping environment, though full training will be provided to the right candidate.

Organisation Skills: Strong organisational skills with a keen eye for detail, ensuring all logistics operations run smoothly.

Communication: You’ll need to be able to communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners, keeping everyone in the loop.

Proactive Attitude: You should be someone who takes initiative, solves problems, and stays focused in a busy environment.

Technical Skills: Familiarity with website booking systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) is preferred.

Geographical Knowledge: A good understanding of the UK and Europe, particularly for scheduling deliveries.

Driver’s License: While not essential, a clean UK driver’s license would be an advantage.

Team Player: A collaborative attitude and the ability to work well in a team is key to succeeding in this role.
