Description

  • Lead and manage the accounting, transaction, and payroll teams (approximately 10 people)
  • Take overall responsibility for the accuracy, consistency, and timely submission of month-end management accounts.
  • Own and review balance sheet reconciliations, identifying risks and opportunities and making recommendations.
  • Drive the development and enhancement of processes, ensuring that appropriate controls are in place across end-to-end finance operations and the month-end close process.
  • Support the team in collaborating with key stakeholders, including site general managers, ensuring that monthly results are communicated clearly and understood by all parties, including input for variance analysis.
  • Work closely with the Group Head of FP&A to analyze budget variances and provide support on commercial projects and business analysis.
  • Prepare statutory accounts and assist in reporting to lenders/shareholders.
  • Oversee tax compliance, including VAT, corporation tax, and PAYE returns.
  • Manage end-to-end transaction processes, including debtors, creditors, and banking.
  • Act as the primary contact for external auditors, managing the audit process to ensure completion within the required deadlines.
  • Supervise the payroll team to ensure proper segregation of duties, compliance with legislation, and adherence to HMRC processes.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting standards and best practices.
  • Contribute to the implementation of a new ERP system and reporting framework.
  • Provide support for ad-hoc projects or activities as needed.

Profile

  • Strong leadership and people management skills to motivate, coach, and drive performance across various levels in the team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to convey financial information effectively to diverse stakeholders.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and PowerPoint).
  • A mindset of ownership and continuous improvement.
  • Strong attention to detail with a quick grasp of data definitions and sources.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple requests simultaneously.
