What You Will Do:
- Design innovative fixtures and tools for new products, bringing your creativity to the forefront.
- Collaborate with the estimating and New Product Introduction (NPI) teams to provide forming analysis for metal stamping and press brake forming.
- Assist the estimating team by conceptualising fixture designs for quotation purposes.
- Take charge of maintaining site layouts, ensuring optimal organisation and efficiency.
- Work closely with customers to implement design for manufacture (DFM) improvements, enhancing product quality and performance.
- Provide support to the toolroom and production engineering teams with your expert designs and technical drawings.
What You Will Bring:
- A degree, HNC, or equivalent qualification in an engineering or science discipline.
- Demonstrable experience in designing fixtures and tools using 3D CAD software, preferably Solid Works.
- Proficiency in 2D software packages and a solid understanding of technical drawings and drawing standards.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, including metal stamping, machining, and welded assemblies.
- (Preferred) Experience with forming FEA for metal stampings and CAM software for CNC machining, laser cutting, or press brake.
