A Major Tier 1 Supplier in the Automotive sector are looking for a Quality Engineer to join the team at their impressive site in the Wolverhampton area.

You will be a flexible and versatile Engineer with a strong technical background within the Automotive sector. Operating in a fast-paced Tier 1 environment and reporting into the Senior Quality Engineer, you will be able to liaise with customers, utilise core Quality tools, conduct internal audits and more

Role: Quality Engineer
Location: Wolverhampton
Salary: 47,000 per annum + pension + benefits

The key responsibilities of the Quality Engineer role will be:
  • Reporting into the Senior Quality Engineer
  • Develop and maintain quality documentation and control systems
  • Compile and manage customer-specific documentation requirements
  • Assist internal manufacturing teams in resolving customer and internal quality concerns efficiently.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) teams in developing Control Plans, PFMEA, Gauge Planning, and identifying potential failure modes using lessons learned.
  • Conduct internal audits as part of the Internal Audit team to ensure compliance and continuous improvement
  • Utilize core quality tools and techniques such as SPC, Ishikawa diagrams, Histograms, Pareto Charts, Scatter Diagrams, and Stratification to drive improvements
  • Lead and advocate for compliance with company systems, procedures, and control plan requirements
  • Gather and share quality and process data with manufacturing teams, driving actions for continuous improvement
  • Deliver training programs for Product Conformance Technicians and Quality Technicians to enhance skills and knowledge
  • Oversee and manage the daily activities of Product Conformance Technicians and Quality Technicians
  • Proactively visit customer and supplier locations to address concerns, ensuring strong customer relationships and high-quality standards
The key requirements of the Quality Engineer will be:
  • A proven track record within a Tier 1 Automotive environment(s)
  • Demonstrated expertise in applying quality assurance techniques effectively, with a strong track record of success
  • In-depth knowledge of OEM customer-specific requirements and industry standards
  • Solid understanding of metal forming and fabrication processes is preferred
  • A history of customer liaison within the Automotive sector
