Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (with overtime and weekend availability)

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join one of the UK's largest specialist pre-treatment and powder coating applicators as a Quality Systems Engineer. Our client is committed to the highest quality standards, as demonstrated by our numerous accreditations. This newly created role aims to enhance the company’s quality and service ethos, fostering long-lasting relationships with our customer base.

What you’ll do:

The Quality Systems Engineer is responsible for establishing and maintaining a robust Quality Management System that aligns with industry standards and accreditations. This role focuses on regulating and improving the quality of all processes and products while fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the organization.

  • Develop and maintain the Quality Management System in line with industry and accreditation standards.
  • Regulate, control, and improve the quality of all processes and the final product.
  • Embed a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organisation.
  • Manage and uphold the ISO9001 management system and Qualicoat accreditations.
  • Oversee laboratory operations and staff to ensure effective quality control.
  • Conduct day-to-day laboratory quality control on products.
  • Manage production operatives and laboratory technicians responsible for in-process checking and final inspection.
  • Oversee quarantine and rework areas.
  • Address customer complaints, ensuring timely actions are taken and root causes identified to prevent recurrence.
  • Requisition laboratory equipment as needed and manage its servicing and calibration.
  • Analyse internal failure data, identify improvement actions, and support their implementation.
  • Ensure effective communication and escalation of quality issues to the appropriate management levels.
