Commercial Gas Engineer
Purpose:
My client is looking for a Commercial Gas Engineer to provide mechanical building services to a wide range of clients, including schools, factories, and commercial buildings. The role involves planned maintenance, reactive call-outs, and small works. The ideal candidate should have strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise with clients and keep them informed about the works being undertaken. Previous experience with commercial buildings and appliances is essential. You will be expected to work as part of a team and manage individual jobs independently.
Key Duties:
- Service and repair of commercial gas equipment, including pipework.
- Conduct gas soundness testing, pressurisation sets, and pump maintenance.
- Install small boilers and related equipment.
- Complete all necessary compliance records according to legislation.
- Carry out site inspections, audits, and periodic checks.
- Respond to emergency call-outs.
- A secondary skill such as plumbing, F-Gas, or electrical qualifications is desirable.
Qualifications & Experience Required:
- Relevant, up-to-date gas qualifications.
- CSCS card.
- Full, valid driving licence.
- Any additional training certifications.
- Significant experience in the field, supporting other engineers and addressing client needs.
- MEWPs (Mobile Elevated Work Platforms) training is a plus.

Salary:
£17-22/hr, plus standby pay of £240 every 3 weeks for a 7-day period. Holiday entitlement: 28 days (inclusive of statutory holidays) with an additional day for every 3 years of service, up to a maximum of 5 extra days. Please note: No private use of the company vehicle.
