A Design Engineer with structural steel / SFS based experience is required by a market leader in the design and manufacturing of cold rolled products and light gauge structural steel framing systems. They are seeking a Design Engineer with experience in SFS (Steel Framing Systems) / cold rolled or light gauge steel to join their dynamic and skilled team.

Please note: This is an opportunity open to all levels of SFS design experience as my Client can take a "fluid" approach with the appointment of this role and tailor responsibilities to suit the successful applicants level of experience; from Junior Design Engineer through to Senior Design Engineer, so all with relevant SFS experience are encouraged to apply.

Overview:

As a Design Engineer you will utilise your knowledge and experience to:

  • Engage in a diverse and impressive range of SFS and cold rolled steel projects.
  • Apply your solid understanding of structural engineering principles and building physics to the role, producing all required engineering calculations and designs packages for your projects
  • Utilise software tools such as Tekla and Tedds for design tasks.
  • Collaborate with a team of highly skilled industry professionals in the design and engineering of projects.

Qualifications / Experience

  • Degree qualified in a relevant industry related discipline (Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Mechanical Engineering etc.)
  • Relevant industry experience in the design and engineering of cold rolled / SFS / light gauge steel products (minimum 1-2 years for Junior Engineers).
  • A solid understanding (relevant to your level of experience) in the structural engineering principles and building physics.
  • Ability to communicate effectively throughout the team and with external design team members and contractors to ensure a smooth delivery of projects
  • Operate in a timely and effective manner, managing your workload professionally to ensure time constraints on projects are met
