BarclayMeade are exclusively supporting a key leadership position within the Materials Handling sector and are seeking a Sales and Service Director to lead, grow and develop a team

Position Overview:

This is a critical leadership role within the UK&I organisation, including full P&L responsibility and key areas such as sales strategy, pricing, service, and rental operations (used and short-term).

The primary focus of this role is to drive sales and service strategies to boost order intake, expand market share, and meet gross profit targets across the UK & Ireland.

Reporting to the SVP for UK&I, this position will lead a high-performing sales team while managing three distinct sales channels (Direct, Dealer, and E-Commerce). The successful candidate will play a key role in re-positioning the brand and driving profitable growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute sales and service strategies to meet order intake, market share, and gross profit goals.
  • Provide strategic leadership to optimise sales and service performance, ensuring alignment with company goals.
  • Build and lead a high-performing sales team, including dealers, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
  • Develop and enhance sales operations tools and processes across direct, dealer, and e-commerce channels.
  • Initiate and implement growth initiatives to capture new market opportunities and improve sales across all channels.
  • Lead sales enablement activities to support both the salesforce and dealer network.
  • Utilise sales analytics and planning to drive performance improvements.
  • Set and monitor targets for the sales and service teams, adjusting strategies as needed to ensure success.
  • Support the expansion of distribution network through dealer development initiatives.
  • Represent the company in the market, with dealers, partners, and EMEA HQ.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Strong sales leadership experience with a proven track record in both direct and indirect sales (distributor channels).
  • Gravitas combined with agility to adapt to dynamic environments.
  • High level of accountability, resilience, and personal responsibility.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all organisational levels.
  • Deep understanding of the Material Handling industry, including all business streams and market segments.
  • Ability to develop and execute strategic plans and budgets aligned with business objectives.
  • Effective communication skills across various regions, including EMEA.
  • Proactive, results-driven mindset focused on achieving sales and service goals.
  • Experience with capital equipment and associated finance packages is preferred.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with a deep understanding of business drivers (Finance, Residual Value, Maintenance).
  • Commitment to Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.
