Our client is a family run manufacturing company with clients in various industries including pharmaceutical, petro chemical, steel processing and automotive. Through growth and success they are looking to recruit a CNC Machinist (Either Milling or Turning) on a permanent basis.

  • 23 Days Holidays + Statutory Bank Holidays (31 Days Total)

  • Standard 40 Hour Working Week 7am – 4pm Monday to Thursday (including ½ Hour Lunch Breaks), 7am – 1pm Friday

Position Overview: We are looking for a CNC Miller or Turner who is proficient in programming, setting up, and operating CNC Mills 3 and 4 axis or CNC Lathes Hurco). The ideal candidate will have experience working with Hurco controls. They will play a crucial role in the manufacturing process, ensuring high-quality production of Jigs and Fixtures and meeting strict deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program, set up, and operate CNC mills to produce precision components according to engineering drawings and specifications. 
  • Versed within the manufacture of Jigs and Fixtures or tooling – working in a bespoke manufacturing environment.
  • Select and install cutting tools, adjust tool offsets, and make necessary machine adjustments to ensure optimal performance.
  • Interpret and modify CNC programs as needed to optimize machining processes and minimize cycle times.
  • Perform regular machine maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure smooth operations and prevent downtime.
  • Conduct quality inspections using precision measuring instruments to verify part dimensions and tolerances.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • CNC Milling on 3-4 axis machinery – on modern Hurco machines with Winmax systems.
  • We are willing to look at other operating systems to transition skills from as Winmax is very conversant.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a CNC Miller with proficiency in programming, setting, and operating mills
  • Proficiency with Hurco controls is required.
  • CADCAM Experience desirable, but not required (Current software is Fusion 360).
  • Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling selection, and cutting parameters.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T symbols.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues independently.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
