Position: Centre Lathe Machinist

- Friday: 8:00 AM 3:30 PM
We are seeking a skilled Centre Lathe Turner to manufacture carbon and stainless-steel flanges using conventional lathes (not CNC). The ideal candidate will be experienced in machining processes with a focus on face, edge, and boring operations of profiled carbon steel blanks.
Key Responsibilities- Set up and operate conventional lathes to produce carbon and stainless-steel flanges.
- Perform machining operations including facing, edging, and boring, ensuring adherence to specified tolerances (up to 1mm).
- Adjust feeds and speeds of the lathe with minimal supervision, demonstrating proficiency in setting the machine for optimal performance.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Set up and operate a range of radial drills, with capacities from 3 to 10.
- Be conversant with setting Pitch Circle Diameters (PCD) for flange drilling using a rotary table.
- Adjust feeds and speeds of radial drills with minimal supervision, ensuring efficient operation.
- Proven experience as a Centre Lathe Machinist, specifically with conventional lathes.
- Strong knowledge of machining processes, including setting up and operating lathes and radial drills.
- Familiarity with working on carbon and stainless-steel materials.
- Ability to set and operate machines with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot machine operations.
