Health and Safety Advisor
Location: Wolverhampton
Hours: 39 hours per week, Mon-Thurs 8am-5pm and 1pm finish on a Friday
Reports To: Health and Safety Manager
Level: NEBOSH Certificate Level 3

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Analysis & Action Plans: Collect and analyse safety data to create targeted action plans.
  • Policy Management: Ensure compliance with all relevant UK Health & Safety legislation.
  • Training & Auditing: Conduct training sessions and audits to raise awareness and fulfil H&S responsibilities across the workforce.
  • Daily Observations & Risk Assessments: Perform daily safety observations and risk assessments, including COSHH, RAPP, and MAC.
  • Incident Management: Maintain the incident database, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
  • Legislation Updates: Stay informed about new legislation and updates, ensuring the organisation remains compliant.
  • Emergency Exercises: Lead emergency evacuation exercises and provide cover for the H&S Manager when required.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Proven Track Record: Demonstrated experience in data collection, analysis, and creating actionable plans.
  • Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Health & Safety Passion: Enthusiastic and passionate about Health & Safety with a proactive attitude.
  • Communication & Influence: Ability to engage and influence employees at all levels.
  • Organisational Skills: Manage workload effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Technical Proficiency: Competent in Microsoft Office and knowledgeable about current H&S legislation, including LOLER.
  • Industry Experience: Experience within automotive manufacturing is desirable, providing a sound understanding of industry-specific H&S challenges.
  • External Liaison: Experience dealing with contractors, HSE, Fire Authority, and Insurance.


Qualifications:

  • NEBOSH Certificate Level 3 or equivalent.
  • Good working knowledge of current H&S legislation.
