Looking for a full-time complex, it needs a teaching assistant to work in Wolverhampton.The school is a large complex needs setting in the Wolverhampton area which supports students with a wide range of complex medical and physical needs. The school supports primary aged students from 4+.In a purpose-built school, they're fully equipped with the best facilities available. With a team of specialist staff including nurses and personal care assistants, your role will be to support within the classroom. The classes usually have a maximum of 10 pupils to a class with at least one teacher and 3 TAs. Your role will be an additional support within the classroom. Communication for these types of pupils is limited, so someone with knowledge of both Makaton and PECs would be advantageous. You will need to be a caring and passionate individual who puts the child at the forefront of everything that you do. You will need to have recent experience of working with similar students. You will benefit from a training plan individualised for the class, where you are given the opportunity to get to know the pupils, their likes/dislikes, their preferred communication methods, and any other information that will allow you and them to have the best start in working together. The school day is 8:15am until 3:20pm on a Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and you will then be invited to their training/staff briefings on Wednesday after school which is until 4:30pm.
