Key Responsibilities
- One-on-One Support: Provide individualized assistance to students, helping them to achieve their educational goals and personal development milestones.
- Classroom Assistance: Collaborate with teachers to facilitate inclusive and engaging classroom activities tailored to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Implementing IEPs: Assist in developing and executing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students, ensuring each plan is tailored to the specific requirements of the child.
- Behaviour Management: Utilize positive behaver management techniques to support students in developing appropriate behaviours and social skills.
- Progress Monitoring: Track and report on student progress, maintaining detailed records and providing feedback to teachers, parents, and external professionals.
- Personal Care: Provide personal care support to students as needed, ensuring their comfort and dignity.
- Communication: Maintain effective communication with parents, caregivers, and other stakeholders to support the holistic development of the students.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Experience: Proven experience as a Teaching Assistant in a SEN setting, ideally within a specialist school.
- Qualifications: Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 3 Award in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, or equivalent.
- Knowledge: A deep understanding of SEN and effective strategies to support students with various needs.
- Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Attributes: Patience, empathy, and a calm demeanour, with the ability to remain positive and resilient in challenging situations.
- Teamwork: A collaborative spirit, with the ability to work effectively as part of a dedicated team.
