Position: Teaching Assistant (Special Educational Needs) Location: Wolverhampton, West Midlands Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience Contract: Full-time / Part-time opportunities availableAbout Us: We are currently seeking compassionate, dedicated, and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to join our team in special educational needs (SEN) schools across Wolverhampton. Our schools provide a nurturing and supportive environment for children with a range of learning and developmental challenges, and we are looking for individuals who are passionate about making a positive impact on these children's lives.The Role: As a Teaching Assistant in one of our SEN schools, you will work closely with students who have diverse needs, including autism, learning disabilities, and physical disabilities. You will support classroom teachers in delivering tailored lessons, ensuring that every child can participate fully in school life. Your role will also include:
- Assisting students with their daily learning activities and supporting their individual needs
- Providing one-on-one or small group support
- Supporting students with personal care and social development where necessary
- Helping to create a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment
- Encouraging the development of social, emotional, and academic skills
Key Skills & Experience:
- Experience working with children or adults with special educational needs is desirable but not essential.
- A caring, empathetic, and patient attitude
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and follow the direction of the class teacher
- A willingness to adapt and be flexible to the needs of the students
- A level 2 or 3 qualification in Childcare, Supporting Teaching & Learning, or similar (or equivalent experience) is advantageous.
