Electronics Engineer - North West Birmingham area - Shrewsbury, Stoke-On-Trent commutable. £ Very good salary - a nice mix of Digital, Analogue, PCB Design and microcontroller programming.
An excellent opportunity for an experienced Electronics Engineer to join this small, UK-based electronics manufacturer, who offer design and manufacturing expertise to customers across many technologies and disciplines, from high performance multi-layer PCBs for Education through to complex LED solutions for specialist industrial lighting applications.
As a key member of the design team, you will be responsible for the design of entirely new products (as well as the maintenance and upgrade of existing products) and will manage design projects from a technical perspective, cost, and product brief from conception to volume manufacture.
This would include -
- Producing practical, cost-effective electronic designs
- Schematic and PCB layout
- Specification of microcontrollers for embedded systems and programming in C
- Test and validation of the design before release for manufacture
- Working with Purchasing and suppliers so that designs can use the most appropriate cost effective technology
- Aiding junior engineers to develop their skills
The ideal applicant would have -
- A degree level education in electronics
- Experience in a design for manufacturing environment
- Experience of analogue and digital circuit design and PCB layout
- Experience programming in C for microcontrollers / embedded design (Ideally STM32)
- Experience programming in Python to facilitate testing solutions
- Practical experience of hand building & debugging prototype circuits
