We are recruiting for a Finance Business Partner on behalf of a Wolverhampton based SME. Currently a small finance team which is growing quickly, we are looking for someone who wants to be part of an exciting growth journey. Currently this firm is turning over £20-25m and expecting another year of double digit growth.
The Finance Business Partner will be a very visible role, so we are interested in people who like to build relationships and have a commercial mindset. The primary function of this position will be to act as the 'bridge' between the finance team and the rest of the business - so you'll need to communicate finance information to non finance people.
We are looking for someone who is:
- A qualified accountant: ACA, ACCA or CIMA
- Commercially minded, with strong people skills
- An exceptional communicator, with the ability to adapt their communication style depending on who they're speaking to
- In the detail. Whilst this is a commercial, visible, relationship led role, it's essential that you understand the detail and use it to influence bigger picture business decisions.
Day to day responsibilities will include:
? Analyse business performance with relevant KPI's and variance analysis against budget/forecast
? Prepare management reporting on a monthly/quarterly basis
? Lead and manage budgeting process
? Present monthly reports to Management team
? Identify improvements based on business requirements.
? Investment Appraisals - Plant & Equipment
? Review of projects with Commercial/Operations - cost to complete, value, profit recognition, risk & opportunities. ? Review and monitor customer and supplier accounts.
? Attendance at monthly/quarterly reviews for business unit ? Manage the tax compliance processes (for corporation tax, VAT, PAYE & NIC and CIS) ensuring adherence to statutory requirements and deadlines.
? Management of Finance Department
? Responsible for financial month end cycle, focus on strong controls, reduce month end close. ? Manage and develop finance processes to ensure that financial controls are maintained to a high standard.
? Manage the group’s fixed asset registers and ensure that all capital expenditure is authorised at agreed levels.
? Collaboration with Management to monitor and report on direct overheads
An important objective for the successful candidate will be to have significant participation in strategic business decisions. You will be the accounting brain at the leadership meetings, with the opportunity to have material impact on the overall direction of the business.
