1 to 1 Teaching Assistant

Are you passionate about supporting young people with Special Educational Needs? Do you have experience working with SEN, Autism, and Behavioural Needs? Join our team as a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant at a specialist SEN school in Wolverhampton.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support children and young people with SEN, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and behavioural challenges, in their learning and personal development.
• Implement strategies to promote engagement, emotional regulation, and positive behaviour.
• Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to provide a tailored approach to each student's needs.
• Assist in creating an inclusive and nurturing environment where every student can thrive.
• Deliver one-to-one and small group interventions as required.

To excel in this role, you should have:

• Experience: Proven experience working with children or young people with SEN, Autism, and behavioural needs in an educational setting.
• Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
• Patience & Empathy: A caring and understanding approach, with the resilience to manage challenging behaviours.
• Qualifications: Relevant training or qualifications in SEN (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant Certificate) are desirable but not essential.
• DBS Check: An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
