Deputy Payroll Manager

Duration:     9 – 12 month contract  

Location:     Wolverhampton (office based)

Pay Rate:    £20 hourly PAYE / £23.50 hourly via Umbrella (both inclusive of holiday pay)

Hours:        37 hours per week, Mon-Fri

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating the Payroll team to deliver all aspects of payroll, deliver effective payment processes and coordinate the IR35 process
  • Develop internal and external relationships with key stakeholders (faculties, HMRC, government agencies etc.) in order to strengthen internal processes
  • Deputise for the Payroll Manager as required
  • Respond clearly and concisely to varied and complex enquiries from employers and stakeholders
  • Support the Payroll and Payments Manager In overseeing the Monthly expenses process
  • Monitor legislation and regulations related to Payroll, IR35 and Expenses to ensure adherence
  • Produce statistical information for external bodies such as the Office for National Statistics

Requirements:

  • Experience of operating computerised payroll systems 
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to supervise the work of others
  • Public Sector experience
