Position SummaryThe Capstan Setter/Operator will be responsible for setting up and operating Ward 2 or 3 capstan lathes to produce precision turned parts. The role involves working with exotic materials and requires expertise in setting Landis and Coventry die heads, as well as Fette rollers and broaching.
Key Responsibilities- Set up and operate Ward 2 or 3 capstan lathes to manufacture precision turned components.
- Configure and adjust Landis and Coventry die heads and Fette rollers for optimal production.
- Perform broaching operations as required for specific components.
- Produce small to large batch products according to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Utilize all relevant measuring equipment in both metric and imperial to ensure high quality and accuracy.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment and adhere to company policies.
- Essential:
- Proven experience as a capstan setter/operator, specifically with Ward 2 or 3 machines.
- Proficiency in setting and operating Landis and Coventry die heads, Fette rollers, and broaching tools.
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Desirable:
- Experience working with exotic materials.
- Knowledge of quality control processes and measuring techniques.
- Attention to detail and a strong commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work independently.
