Position: Mechanical Fitter
Salary: 32,000 - 35,000

Our client specialises in designing and manufacturing cutting-edge special-purpose machinery for a wide range of industries. They are known for innovation and quality and are looking for a skilled and motivated Mechanical Fitter to join their dynamic team.
Key skills required for the Mechanical Fitter vacancy:
- To work from mechanical engineering drawings/schematics and pneumatic diagrams to assemble bespoke machinery.
- Experience working with/fitting pneumatic and hydraulic systems onto special purpose machinery.
- Previous experience with machine frame assembly and working with and putting together aluminium profiles.
- Experience fitting linear slides, rotary tables, jigs & fittings.
- Organised & working to a high standard, ensuring contractors are keeping work areas clean and tidy.
- Experience working in a similar environment: automated machinery, SPM, packaging systems, vision inspection machinery, robotic systems, pick & place robots, warehouse automation machinery, bagging machinery, end of line systems.
- Conduct mechanical testing and troubleshooting to ensure machinery operates efficiently.
- Collaborate with the design and engineering teams to ensure high standards of build quality.
The suitable candidate for Mechanical Fitter will need to possess the following skills and experience.
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter, ideally within the special-purpose machinery sector.
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
- A problem-solver with excellent attention to detail and a focus on quality.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, or precision assembly.
