The Company

Seymour John is delighted to be working with a well-established organisation in Wolverhampton, to support with the recruitment of a self-motivated and enthusiastic Project Officer, to join the team on a 6-month temporary contract.

The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the Project Manager, your overall responsibility will be to support and manage activities and resource to ensure delivery of the organisations business transformation programmes through providing effective project governance to achieve the desired project outcomes. You will support with the day to day operational and tactical aspects of multiple projects within the organisation, accountable to deliver on time, within budget and to a high standard.

Duties will include:

  • Developing relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and to ensure delivery of services meet the specific requirements of projects
  • Supporting on operational aspects, coordinating internal workstreams and supporting communication to senior management and steering committees to ensure the programme of change is delivered on time, within budget and with appropriate action taken to mitigate risks
  • Liaising with project leads and senior management to gain consensus and agreement on the goals, objectives and priorities for the organisation
  • Supporting the Project Manager monitoring the scope of projects, timescales, risks, issues, resourcing and budgets
  • Ensuring effective oversight of all projects ensuring they are planned, resourced and delivered through a consistent, joined-up delivery framework, thereby increasing the chances of success and reducing wasted effort, time and cost
  • Coordinating and supporting effective project governance and reporting framework providing regular reports to the key stakeholders including senior managers in relation to the progress of the projects, reporting any project slippage, risk analysis and remedial action to be taken to identify issues

Personal Profile

We are looking to speak with candidates who have good project management experience, ideally organisational wide, involving business change, including system and process changes. You will have a Project Management qualification or a track record of leading organisational wide projects. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with good communication skills and an ability to use their initiative to ensure projects are completed accurately and within the agreed timeframe.
