Field Service Technician

  • Location: Cambridge / Milton Keynes

Join a dedicated Field Service Team at a leading technology company in the healthcare sector. With a history of innovation, they are looking for a Field Service Technician who will be at the forefront of delivering exceptional service and technical support for their comprehensive product range. This role is vital in maintaining their commitment to patient safety and satisfaction.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Provide exceptional customer service and technical support across all product ranges.
  • Service, maintain and repair Communication Systems, Fire Alarms and Nurse Call Alarm Systems
  • Highlight customer issues and contribute to the corrective actions process, offering feedback on product performance.
  • Support the returns process to facilitate product improvements and modifications.
  • Promote additional services and products to enhance customer experience.
  • Implement strategies to reduce service costs, including reducing parts usage, maintaining correct van stock profiles, and focusing on a high first-time fix rate.
  • Provide support for complaint escalations and attend product update meetings and refresher training.
  • Collaborate with the Regional Lead Engineer to enhance customer satisfaction, service efficiency, and business profitability.
  • Maintain frequent contact with various departments within the company and engage with customers at all levels, including end-users and NHS Trusts.
  • Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety processes.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven customer service experience.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical and communication systems.
  • Ability to work alone and unsupervised.
  • Motivated to achieve business targets.
  • Self-motivated decision-maker with a solutions-oriented approach.
  • Excellent communication skills across all media.
  • PC literate with good organisational skills.
  • Must pass a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
  • Full driving license.

Desired Skills:

  • FIA Unit 5 certification.
  • Experience in servicing and maintaining alarm/communication systems.
