A globally recognised manufacturing business has a new vacancy for a Maintenance Engineer to join their engineering team. The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for carrying out reactive and preventative maintenance on a range of complex machinery and will also be involved in the installation of new equipment as part of a companywide capital investment plan.

The Role

The Maintenance Engineer will support a range of repair and maintenance duties including:

  • Providing preventative maintenance, installation, overhaul, and repair of equipment.
  • Working with management to develop a total preventative maintenance schedule.
  • Assisting developing capital project programs for new equipment and major repairs.
  • Diagnosing problems, replace or repair parts, test and make modifications.
  • Working with the Engineering Manager to identify areas for improvement.
  • Identifying continuous improvement actions to machinery and reduce production down time.
  • Updating and maintaining the internal database to record any fault issues and reordering of parts and products within the engineering department.
  • Recording all breakdowns with faults, parts used, actions and times.

The Person

The ideal candidate is an engineer committed to solving plant issues and driving best practice across the manufacturing floor.  Key requirements include:

  • You will be an electrically biased, multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer, who is able to organise workload to ensure minimum production ‘downtime’ and maximum machine availability.
  • You will have up to date knowledge of electrical regulations and the ability to read drawings and manuals to aid repair and service.
  • You will be able to use and demonstrate root cause problem solving techniques and demonstrate strong attention to detail coupled with the ability to work with minimal supervision including planning of own workload.
